Please note that this vacancy is for Recent College Graduates, those, who have completed their degree no longer than 18 months ago. Description: Technical Marketing Engineer within the Application Design-In Center (ADC) providing support on Intel Handheld and Mobile Internet Device (MID) products and solutions. This is an engineering position focused on scaling out support for customer designing Handheld and MID products with Intel components such as processors, chipsets and associated circuits. The support includes activities like: Demonstrate advantages and value proposition of Intel solutions by building product and technology demonstration using reference platform Provide detailed support to customers during the product development phases to ensure product on time launch Enable customers with technical design documentation, firmware, drivers Provide training on specific platform features or technologies and implementation options Analyse existing customer designs and advise on best choices on components, schematic, firmware, OS, drivers and application level Assist customers in technical issue resolutions using own skills and engaging factory engineers The engineer will be required to consult with customers, Service Providers, specialist colleagues within the immediate Intel SMG team and other divisions including Ultra Mobility Group (UMG) and Software Solutions Group (SSG) to facilitate and support the development of solutions, often in application segments where the customer may be unfamiliar with Intel Architecture. This may involve liaison with 3rd parties as necessary to understand new and emerging technologies, stacks or operating systems and develop system level solutions. In this position, the candidate will be required to help work with developers in the moblin.org open source environment on new Intel architectures and components. Qualifications: The candidate must be qualified to Degree level in Computer Science, Electronics or in programming and have 3+ years of relevant experience. The candidate must also demonstrate a proven track record in the development or application of relevant software or platform level solutions. The candidate must also be well versed in Customer management & support and display willingness and flexibility to work as part of a diverse team on a range of projects. Recent College Graduates will not be considered due to experience & knowledge level required within the field. Software knowledge and programming skills: Practical development skills in Linux environment: ability to build/troubleshoot OS stack (kernel, drivers) and port/validate middleware or applications Good practical experience in C/C++ or Java code programming/debugging Familiarity with Intel SW development tools Knowledge of embedded operating systems and RTOS Hands on experience in development code for least one of the following areas of interest: OpenSource Development, Eclipse plugin development, gobject programming, GDK, OpenGL, 3D Graphics Programming, Clutter, or other graphical design toolkits Application specific knowledge for Handheld/MID device: Prior knowledge of Handheld /MID/ Smartphone segment products and technologies Knowledge of ARM architecture is a plus Understanding of peripheral components: NAND Flash memory, USB flash drives and memory cards Knowledge of communication stack for wireless technologies like 3G, GPRS, WiMAX Audio/video processing and codecs Demodulators and tuners General technical support skills: Experience of high speed circuit design (analog and digital) and good knowledge of theory Ability to read and interpret schematic circuit diagrams Knowledge and experience of debugging electronic circuits to component level using lab equipment and test tools oscilloscope, logical analysers, etc. Well developed and logical problem solving Project management and multi tasking Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and seniorities up to Project lead or manager Discipline, diligence and persistence required to follow-up on actions Fluent in English verbal and written Microsoft Office skills |
